Overview

ILADS has been having European conferences since 2010 and this year is particularly significant in view of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. After the acute phase of both Lyme Borreliosis/Tick-Borne Disease (TBD) and COVID-19 many patients have chronic neuropsychiatric symptoms that need to be addressed. The chronic symptoms from both Lyme/TBD and COVID are identified, the interaction of these two conditions and future directions are discussed. In addition other issues relevant to chronic Lyme are addressed, including assessment, differentiating psychosomatic from somatopsychic conditions, guidelines, and Lyme disease and substance abuse.
